Wood Vinegars Coconut Shells Materials Termite Worker Striped Mealybug

About The Book

This research revealed that the wood vinegars produced from coconut shells and coir can be applied to wood materials to repel termite workers. It presents the first utilization of coconut wastes as raw materials for the manufacture of wood vinegars. These wood vinegars can be potentially used as an alternative insecticide instead of chemical insecticides for control pest insects; termite workers and striped mealybugs. The tar that is a by-product of the raw wood vinegars has an ability to protect a plywood structure from termite workers infestation.
