Word Families

<p><strong><em>Forty-eight-word families</em></strong><em> </em>are covered in this resource featuring 2 3 & 4 letter word families for each of the 5 vowels. </p><p>For each family three parallel activities are included. Lessons start with a simple printing exercise followed by an exercise for the use of words in context to draw out meanings. Picture matching is used to enhance connections. </p><p>The third activity focuses on deeper understanding and use of the words in context spelling and grammar skills. </p><p>Games like picture bingo riddles and silly poems and stories make this a resource that is both practical as well as enjoyable for students. </p><p>A teacher guide with suggestions for extension activities is included. </p><p>Supports Common Core Standards for Reading Foundational Skills Phonological Awareness. </p><p>144 pages.</p>
