Mr Norbury describes the ways in which nouns and adjectives are built up in Russian. He deals at length with the most useful and important of these: affixation deaffixation compounding. Each of the affixes in common use is discussed the structure of compound words is shown in tabular form and a list of some 500 simple and compound affixes ends the book. Comparisons with English uses and procedures are made throughout.
