Working in the Community

This book is for all those working in the community in a change capacity. The book explores the nature values and principles of community development work. It locates this practice in the context of globalisation and current theoretical debates on the nature of society and urban processes. A critical model of practice is proposed based on a Freirean and transformatory approach to development. The book uses the UK as an example but due to the processes of globalisation is relevant to a wide readership in other countries.
