World Under Lockdown

The novel captures the key events during the initial phase of the coronavirus pandemic as well as the social cultural and psychological impact of the disease.Nimish and Dr. Ramakrishna live on different floors of a two-story house. Nimish is a young man working for an oil company whereas Dr. Ramakrishna is a retired doctor eccentric and wicked. A common housemaid works for them. Her name is Maniamma and she is a religious lady with firm belief in God.COVID-19 has different impact on the three individuals. Nimish falls prey to severe depression remaining confined inside his room and observing the suffering chaos and uncertainty caused by the pandemic all over the world. Dr. Ramakrishna becomes the victim of an intense paranoia and adopts extraordinary measures to protect himself from the virus. The housemaid Maniamma resigns to her fate when she experiences the symptoms of the disease believing God wants her to die and she should leave the world wilfully as per his wish.WORLD UNDER LOCKDOWN is a novel about hope and humanity and mankind’s collective fight against a deadly pandemic.
