Writings on cities

This book is the result of a series of reflections made over the last few years that call into question recent processes especially in large cities. Among the important movements discussed in this book is peri-urbanisation. A recent process on the Brazilian scene peri-urbanisation has been causing structural social economic and landscape changes in rural areas as a result of the penetration of urban activities people and interests into areas traditionally marked by the presence of the countryside. The result has increasingly been the formation of multi-functional spaces in which rural and urban coexist making the space deeply complex.
