Adams lately Librarian of Trinity College Cambridge agreed to deposit the manuscript of Wyclif''s Summa de Ente in the University Library for a whole year thus greatly easing my task. The Librarians of New College and Merton College Oxford and of Worcester Cathedral Chap ter Library also permitted manuscripts in their charge to be deposited for my convenience either in Bodley or the Cambridge University Library. Members of the staff of these libraries and many ofthose named below aided me with manuscript problems.
