About The Book
Description
Author
About the Book: Yaadon ki Phuljhari is a two-fold book. The first part of the book is a heartfelt tribute by the author to his Grandfather Sub Pat Ram (99 Deccan infantry now 5 KUMAON) who participated in World War - 1 in Mesopotamia (Iraq) and laid down his life in 1917. It also has pictures of WW-1 Centenary Commemoration events held in Delhi. The second part of the book has 15 short stories. These stories are like vibrant pieces within a kaleidoscope. These are a mix of fiction and reminiscence of the authors journey of 34 years in the army. About the Author: Lt Col R S Gursey joined the army and got commissioned in the Corps of Engineers in 1971. He took part in Bangladesh Liberation War in December 1971. From the hills of Leh to the oceans of Andamans and from Headquarters in Delhi to the Regimental centre in Bangalore during his 34 years of service he has seen all the various hues this country has to offer while adorning his olive green uniform. He retired in 2006 and now enjoys the second innings of his life with his family at his ancestral home in New Delhi.
