Climate change has been treated as a threat to agriculture and global food security (AGOVINO et al. 2019). In addition to this projected climate change scenario (ALVES MARTINS REBOITA 2020) it is estimated that the world population is expected to be over 9.7 million by 2050 (UN 2021). Thispopulation expansion associated with concentration in cities and income growth should increase the demand for food (SAATH; FACHINELLO 2018). According to the United Nations UN (2021) world population growth may bring an additional 2.5 billion people into urbanized areas by 2050. An increase in per capita income should occur associated with this urbanization process in addition to changes in the characteristics ofconsumption characteristics of the world population (SAATH; FACHINELLO 2018). Thus an increase in the demand for nutritious food is estimated thus agriculture becomes a strategic activity in several countries (SENTELHAS et al. 2015).
