Yoruba Muslims and the Practice of Islam: An Assessment

Islam is both religion and way of life; it has a set of rules guiding the religious practices which must be strictly adhered to by every Muslim. Nonetheless many of these practices are not carried out in line with the right dictates of Islam. This work is a collection of essays an outcome of researches conducted on Yoruba Muslims and their manners attitudes and reactions towards some Islamic practices in the contemporary period. Virtually all the essays in this book have been published in both local and international academic journals; but for the purpose of wider reach especially to the people for which the essays are directed we are making it as a book of reading for all and sundry.The book contains seven distinctive chapters covering different aspects of Islamic religious practices among Yoruba Muslims.
