<em>You Might Appreciate This</em> is a collection of not really poems but more like one-hundred-and-fifty failed little novels-emphasis on failed. These mini-novels have no titles but numbers. They cruise from one emotion to the next as Swirski takes a 2 a.m. drive and suffers the rebukes of someone he once loved and might love again.<p> His poems are real. If you recognize yourself it's probably because he's writing about you even if you hope he isn't. With raw jagged emotion Swirski unearths what is ugly and egotistical while grasping at the hope that there's more to this life than cigarette smoke and mirrors. Where you see monsters Swirski sees beautiful madness.
