One day while browsing through a clothing store I noticed a familiar face. Curious I walked to the woman. “Are you Jiya from the St. Xavier College 2010 batch?” I asked. With a hint of hesitation she confirmed “Yes I am Jiya. And if my memory is correct you too were in the same batch?” Recalling our college days I suggested we grab a cup of coffee. During our chat I noticed Jiya’s unease as she kept covering her face. Initially she declined my invitation saying that she had an important task but after a bit of persuasion she agreed. As we walked towards the café at the far end of the mall I tried to make Jiya feel more comfortable. Slowly gaining her trust I gently asked what was bothering her.
