Her continuing crippled condition forced her to seek medical aid in the United States and at the age of 21 after the final two operations at Midtown Hospital New York she was able to walk with some greater freedom (without crutches) but still with a cane.

Love and marriage prompted her return to Greece. However the dictatorship prohibited the sale of any of her writings. The dubious distinction of being the only Greek authoress to receive a decree of prohibition from the Greek government forced her and her family back to the United States in the hope that her talent would find fulfillment there. It did and you hold in your hand the globally acclaimed Youth In The Wind destined for the screen. Pictured here with her adopted daughter in the USA Tuyen Hoang. She inspires hope in a younger generation that carry her story to a new audience.
