Mike Stewart is a gray hat hacker in the underworld of cybercrime. As a pen tester and cyber operative for the United States Army he spent six years breaking into computer systems of foreign and domestic terrorists. Now a civilian in a world becoming financially destabilized by cybercrime his talents are in demand. Living in Santa Monica Mike is a private investigator slowly washing his ill-gotten gains back into the system while sorting out bad players in the financial and business professions. After agreeing to help a beautiful schoolteacher find a missing friend Mike is pulled into a world of murder blackmail and mayhem. Using his skills to dig deeply into the lives of the people he's helping he is pulled back into the vortex of international crime in the Port of Los Angeles. Everything including his life is on the line as he digs and hacks his way out of one problem only to find himself in more trouble and danger than he ever expected.
