The Shores of Time

Daviau's poetry strays on the dark side of love but never lingers there for too long. Her work is intricately laced with both courage and hope in the quest for true love. Daviau's work reflects the inner angst of love which can sometimes be withered by the finality of youth time and loss.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>                                 You're attracted to the poison...</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>                                                          </em></strong><strong><em>that kills you.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>                                                 </em></strong> <strong><em>  ~Elle Daviau</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><em>The Shores of Time</em></p><p> </p><p> The loves we experience </p><p> time and time again</p><p> how they crash and retreat</p><p> with the tide of emotions that run </p><p> through us-</p><p> bobbing and weaving under the depths </p><p> sometimes leaving marks </p><p> and slashes</p><p> as the bad ones inevitably roll in. </p><p> </p><p> They'll kiss us with sweet lips </p><p> laced with poison </p><p> meant to deceive us </p><p> and dilute our minds in false promise. </p><p> They lure us in </p><p> to capture our hearts </p><p> on the tides </p><p> of the shores of time.</p><p> </p><p> And this is what they did to me.</p><p> </p><p> The shores of time live deep in all of us. </p><p> If you look closely</p><p> it's always there.</p><p> ~ Elle Daviau</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Elle Daviau attends college in the Pacific Northwest.
