Zoonoses and public health

Zoonoses are infectious diseases transmissible from animals to humans and represent a major challenge for global public health. With human population growth increasing urbanization and climate change interactions between humans and animals are multiplying favoring the emergence and spread of these diseases. Historically zoonoses have played a significant role in the evolution of human societies influencing events such as devastating epidemics and changes in agricultural practices. That's why we need to avoid zoonoses in our living environments.
