<p><em>A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court</em> by Mark Twain is a satirical novel about a 19th-century American engineer Hank Morgan who is transported back in time to King Arthur's England. Using his modern knowledge he tries to civilize the medieval world with technology and industry clashing with the feudal system the church and chivalric traditions. Though he initially succeeds his efforts ultimately lead to tragic consequences offering a sharp critique of both romanticized history and blind faith in progress.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p>
