<p>The Study of Scarlet is Conan Doyle's pioneering work establishing his position as a master of detective fiction. The work tells the story of Dr. Watson who returns home from the Afghan battlefield due to injuries. By chance he meets a young man named Sherlock Holmes who wants to rent a house with him. Quickly he discovered that Sherlock Holmes possessed exceptional observational skills and extraordinary reasoning and analytical abilities that surpassed those of ordinary people. One day Holmes received a letter from Gregson at Scotland Yard inviting him to investigate a case. So he went to the murder scene with Watson and found a body without trauma in an empty room that was unoccupied. The deceased was an American. On the walls of the scene the words RACHE were written in fresh blood and a rolling ring two different footprints and several finger marks on the wall were also found.
