A Wind in the Door

Madeleine L'Engle'sA Wrinkle in Time Quintet continues with the second instalment. Meg Calvin and their teacher Mr. Jenkins must travel inside Charles Wallace to heal him and preserve the universe from the wicked Echthros when he falls ill. Each time a star fades another Echthros has triumphed in combat. It is the month of November. Charles Wallace tells Meg when she gets home from school that he spotted dragons in the twins' vegetable patch. Meg Calvin and C.W. walk to the vegetable garden that night to meet the Teacher (Blajeny) who explains that what they are seeing is a cherubim named Proginoskes not a dragon.It turns out that C.W. is sick and Blajeny and Proginoskes are on their way to heal him so that they can restore the universe's balance and save it from the terrible Echthros. To have this struggle and rescue Charles' life as well as the balance of the universe Meg Calvin and Mr. Jenkins (grade school administrator) must travel inside C.W.
