About The Book

Mark Twain drew inspiration from the Missouri boyhood memories of the lads he grew up with to develop the beloved characters Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. A sequel to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, this story is set in the 1840s along the Mississippi River. Huckleberry and Jim, a slave who wants to be free, set out on a raft down the Mississippi. As they go south, they encounter two conmen named the Duke and the King, and Huck eventually meets up with Tom Sawyer. The novel uses foul language and reveals historical views, including racism.
