Thornberry and Marvin D. Krohn propose an interactional theory of antisocial behavior. Per-Olof Wikstrom's developmental ecological action theory emphasizes the importance of situational factors: opportunities cause temptation friction produces provocation and monitoring and the risk of sanctions have deterrent effects.
