About The Book

Shree Ramcharitmanas is an epic poem written in the 16th century by the Indian poet-saint Tulsidas. It is considered to be one of the greatest works of Hindi literature and is an important text in the Hindu tradition. The book narrates the story of Lord Rama the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu and his journey from his birth to his return to the celestial abode.</br></br>The book is divided into seven chapters each of which is called a ""Kanda"" and is written in the Awadhi dialect of Hindi. The first chapter called the ""Bala Kanda"" describes the birth and childhood of Lord Rama as well as the circumstances that led to his exile from Ayodhya. The second chapter the ""Ayodhya Kanda"" narrates the events leading up to Rama's exile including his marriage to Sita and his eventual banishment.</br></br>The third chapter the ""Aranya Kanda"" describes the events that take place during Rama's exile in the forest including his encounter with the demoness Surpanakha the kidnapping of Sita by the demon king Ravana and Rama's alliance with the monkey king Hanuman. The fourth chapter the ""Kishkindha Kanda"" describes the story of Hanuman and his search for Sita and his eventual meeting with Rama and the monkey army.</br></br>The fifth chapter the ""Sundara Kanda"" describes the story of the rescue of Sita by Rama Hanuman and the monkey army and their return to Ayodhya. The sixth chapter the ""Lanka Kanda"" narrates the story of the war between Rama and Ravana and Rama's eventual victory over the demon king. The final chapter the ""Uttara Kanda"" describes the events that take place after Rama's return to Ayodhya including the birth of his sons and his eventual departure from the world.</br></br>Ramcharitmanas is not just a story of Lord Rama but also a spiritual guide for those seeking to lead a righteous and fulfilling life. The book explores the themes of dharma (righteousness) karma (action) and bhakti (devotion) and teaches the reader how to lead a life that is in harmony with these principles. It is a book that has been revered by generations of Hindus and continues to inspire and enlighten people to this day.
