About the Author Thomas shortened his French literature studies in Tours and started writing for children when he became a father and stayed home to care for his children. He likes alternating between light and serious intrigues also writing detective novels and comic book scenarios. His poetic and subtle style offers rich nuanced texts as stimulating for the little ones as it is for adults. Now living in La Rochelle Thomas likes meeting his young readers and organizing writing workshops for kindergarten primary and middle school students.After studying graphic design Barroux became an artistic director in advertising. For seventeen years he led a brilliant career as a press and children's literature illustrator in the US. Back in France he published picture books and comics translated all over the world with companies in France (Seuil Nathan Mango) and abroad (Blue Apple Books Egmont). His Line of Fire Diary of an UnknownSoldier received widespread critical acclaim and Where's the Elephant? was long-listed for the 2016 Kate Greenaway Medal. In his studio Barroux works in the old-fashioned way mixing painting pencils and collages.Nakashi Chowdhry's fascination with foreign languages began when she first discovered French words in italics in the books she read as a child. She became determined to be fluent in French and one day she actually found herself teaching it! Originally from Delhi she now lives in the gorgeous city of Str asbourg in France where she teaches English translates and eats croissants every weekend.
